By harnessing the strength and breadth of the global Harrods network and working with carefully selected charity partners, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. Creating opportunity, inspiring creativity and protecting the environment helps us play our part in securing a healthy planet and better future for generations to come.
We have supported a variety of charities over the years through volunteering, payroll giving, in-kind support and dedicated fundraising campaigns. To support our new Community Pillar strategy, we have established five key partnerships with national charities and local community partners: The King's Trust, WEST Youth Zone, St Cuthbert’s Centre and Albrighton Community Fridge.
The King’s Trust works with young people aged 11 to 30 who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. The youth charity was founded in 1976 by His Majesty The King when he was HRH The Prince of Wales and has helped more than 1 million young people to date, giving them the skills and confidence to change their lives.
OnSide’s Youth Zones provide state-of-the-art facilities, activities, training and mentoring programmes for young people across the UK. We have partnered with the WEST Youth Zone, which opened in Hammersmith and Fulham in April 2024.
St Cuthbert’s Centre is a community hub in Earl’s Court which tackles homelessness, isolation and food waste in the community. Harrods colleagues regularly help out with the centre’s daily lunch service, or offer their unique skills to support the charity in other ways.
The Albrighton Community Fridge is a South-East London charity that aims to reduce food waste and feed those in need. We donate surplus produce from our Food Halls every evening – to date, we have supplied over 66 tonnes of bread, charcuterie, patisserie and more.
Each year, we give every colleague an additional day of paid leave to volunteer with a charity of their choice. In 2024, 398 of our colleagues used their charity day to support causes close to their hearts.
