When Paul Smith was starting his eponymous label in the 1970s, he was looking for originality and flair to imbue into his designs. Struck by how vibrant differently hued threads looked when wound around a piece of card, he came up with the brand’s signature stripes, a variation of which is found here on the Kahn socks.
