5 of the Best Child-Friendly Restaurants in Harrods

Words by Henry Coldstream

Not every trip to the Terracotta Palace will be a family affair but when the little ones are in tow, there’s certainly no shortage of ways to keep them entertained in-store. Why not take a stroll through our huge Fourth Floor toy department, or even enlist the help of our toy concierge service? Treat them to something special from the Childrenswear Department or witness their wonder as they explore the confectionary-stacked shelves of The Chocolate Hall.

Sooner or later, though, tiny stomachs will inevitably begin to rumble and finding somewhere to eat will quickly become a priority! Luckily, across our eight floors, you’ll find several different restaurants on hand to satisfy smaller appetites. Whether it’s a quick burger and a milkshake that you’re after or a full children’s afternoon tea menu complete with sparkling lemonade and homemade crisps, we’ve got you covered.

The Georgian

Teatime at The Georgian may not quite be what the children are used to at home, but you can be certain that they’ll leave begging you to take them back. This is because, alongside The Georgian’s regular showstopping afternoon tea menu, there is also a fantastic children’s afternoon tea on offer at our longest standing restaurant.

Picture the delight on their faces as a first serving of chicken sausages rolls, filled crispy potatoes and crudités arrives theatrically at the table with a glass of sparkling honey lemonade. And that’s before the headline act – a deliciously sweet trio of animal patisseries, including a chocolate and honey lion – is then put down in front of them!

The Grill on Fifth

Hidden away up at the very top of the building, The Grill on Fifth may look like a grown-ups dream on the face of it, but smaller diners are also more than covered. A dedicated children’s menu covers everything from smash burgers to chicken goujons with the option of ice cream or a chocolate brownie to finish.

If the food wasn’t enough already, surely a seat up on Harrods’ only rooftop terrace with a colouring sheet will keep the kids entertained for long enough for you to enjoy one of the signature steaks on offer?

Pizzeria & Pasqua

Rivalling the burger both in terms of convenience and popularity with our younger visitors, pizza is always going to be a safe bet for lunch or dinner in-store. Our Second Floor pizzeria also doesn’t require booking, meaning you can simply find your way there as soon as those stomachs begin to rumble.

When it comes to Pizzeria & Pasqua’s menu, you’ll find everything from the classics – Margherita, quattro formaggi and the like – to some Harrods signatures, including a chicken shawarma pizza. And there’s no need to fret if any of the kids don’t like pizza; an array of classic pasta dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese and baked macaroni cheese ensures there’s something for everyone.

Gordon Ramsay Burger

A conveniently short wander from our toy department, Gordon Ramsay Burger is a fail-safe option when it comes to family-friendly dining. After all, how often do you meet a child who doesn’t love a burger? These aren’t just any old burgers though – the legendary chef has created a menu packed with tempting toppings, juicy British beef patties, and a whole host of must-order sides.

Gordon Ramsay Burger’s dedicated children’s menu, meanwhile, features smaller sizes of some of the chef’s hero burgers including the Yardbird and the Hell’s Kitchen, as well as an enticing selection of sundaes and shakes. What’s more, the menus themselves include a selection of puzzles and colouring pages to keep the kids entertained while the burgers are prepared.
