Bell Hill is a master of patience, with the preparation for this 2019 chardonnay dating back as far as 1997. Between then and 2009, the first of its pinot noir and chardonnay grapes were sown over two densely packed, northern-facing hectares. From there, a Bulgarian-inspired approach to vineyard maintenance was adopted, keeping the vines low to the ground and allowing the roots to explore the soil profile. The result is a beautifully rounded white, consistent in its quality, fruit tension and expression of terroir.
