With journalist-turned-treasure-hunter J.J. Martin – the most Italian of Americans – at the helm, Milanese label La DoubleJ has developed from a shoppable magazine selling vintage clothing to an entire lifestyle brand offering original Italian-made pieces. La DoubleJ designs its clothing through rose-tinted glasses with a focus on bold colours and prints as a result of the founder’s distaste of minimalism and ‘negative space’ – “in fact, my home doesn’t even have one single white wall!” Vintage silhouettes and patterns are seen through a new lens, culminating in the most characterful La DoubleJ dresses, skirts and accessories.
