The Experts’ Christmas Picks from the Harrods Food Halls
Words by Bridie Newman
Floor-to-ceiling displays of festive chocolates, hampers destined to delight every taste bud, Christmas dinner to-go beckoning from The Rotisserie, edible gifts at every turn, and more than 100 varieties of cheese – The Food Halls are a gourmet winter wonderland.
To guide you through it all, we’ve asked our experts what Christmas food they’re putting in their baskets. As buyers and product developers, seeking and taste-testing every offering is part of their job, so you can trust that their picks are nothing short of exceptional. From exclusive tea launches to under-the-radar puddings, these are the expert-approved products to try this season.
The Cheese Collection Hamper
Coming together to form the perfect British cheeseboard, this hamper includes cranberry Wensleydale, creamy English Brie, port and cranberry Buffalo Blue, Red Leicester and not one but two truffle Cheddars – because it’s always the first to be finished. Serve on the beautiful wooden board provided with Farmhouse Pickle and both classic water and sea-salt and rosemary biscuits.
The Grosvenor Christmas Hamper
We’ve expanded our range of hampers this year, many of which are featured in our guide to Christmas hampers. Among the bestsellers, The Grosvenor is a family-friendly option, offering a smorgasbord of sweet treats: spiced salted-caramel shortbread, a Christmas pudding, festive fudge – all presided over by our adorable Alfie, the 2025 Christmas bear.
Classic Pandoro
If you love the sweet buttery taste of our panettone but prefer it without the currants, try our new pandoro. Made over three days with a sourdough starter that has been kept and refreshed since 1932, it has a sweet vanilla flavour and a light, fluffy texture. To decorate your pandoro Italian-style, pour the sachet of icing sugar into its bag, loosely tie it closed, and shake until the cake is evenly dusted.
Sicilian Orange Sponge Pudding
There’s always room for pudding. But after a particularly abundant Christmas dinner, something lighter than the traditional recipe may be in order. Our new Sicilian orange from our festive puddings collection refreshes the palate with zingy brightness, topped with marmalade sauce, freeze-dried orange and – delivering some seasonal pizzazz – edible glitter.
Hibiscus Christmas Tea Bauble
It’s hard to surprise the tea lover. So rather than add to their teapot collection, delight them with our new Christmas tea baubles. Nestled in a keepsake wooden box, this herbal hibiscus blend features rosehip, cranberry and orange flavours. Other options include the eggnog black tea bauble and the gingerbread green tea bauble.
Blonde Hot Chocolate with Caramelised Sugar and Sea Salt
Warm the milk, ready the mugs – we’ve launched nine hot chocolates this season. It’s hard to pick just one flavour, but the sweet-salty contrast of the caramelised blonde with sea salt makes it an instant crowd-pleaser. The chunky shards of chocolate (irresistible to nibble on) are sustainably sourced, of the utmost quality and melt into a rich, velvety drink to warm you from within.
Harrods Chocolate Coated Pistachio, Cherry and Cardamom Biscuits
No family gathering is complete without a tin of biscuits to share. This pleasingly tall tower is filled with dark-chocolate-coated biscuits studded with pistachio and sour cherries. For a light-hearted game, serve them on a plate and challenge everyone to name the spice that lightly perfumes each bite – cardamom, of course.
Chocolate Coated Festive Liqueur Dragee Selection
Ticking all the boxes – delectable, generously filled and beautiful enough for the coffee table – our collection of coated and dusted chocolates is world-famous with good reason. Joining the family this Christmas is a new liqueur trio featuring mulled wine, whisky cream and eggnog liqueur, each bursting from perfect bite-sized spheres.
Harrods London Dry Gin
Winter G&T, anyone? Created in partnership with Cambridge Distillery – renowned for their inventive use of fresh botanicals – our newly launched Harrods London Dry Gin blend is a juniper blend, lifted with subtle notes of lemon verbena, coriander seeds, rose petals and blackcurrant leaf.
Saicho Osmanthus Sparkling Tea
The sober curious and pregnant among you will appreciate Saicho’s range of non-alcoholic drinks. Its new Osmanthus sparkling tea has delicate notes of apricot, cucumber and custard apples. Enjoy as a festive aperitif or paired with roasted duck, seared scallops or fresh goat’s cheese and honey.
