Kapital
Kapital has long been a pioneer of Japanese denim. Founded in 1984 by Toshikiyo Hirata, whose passion for mid-century American workwear inspired him to reinterpret denim through a distinctly Japanese lens, the brand has since grown into a cult name in contemporary fashion. Over the years, Kapital has collaborated with artists and embraced eclectic influences, from folk crafts and traditional textile techniques to psychedelic motifs. Today, its clothing collections extend far beyond denim, spanning delicate knitwear woven on vintage shuttle looms, hand-stitched shirts and the iconic Kapital button-up – all of which can be discovered in our edit.
