The Best Beauty Treatments for Brides to Be

Words by Maya Avram

Bridal hair and make-up are an important part of the actual wedding day, but our in-house beauty specialists have seen a growing number of requests for something else from brides: glowing skin.

“Brides want to look refreshed and radiant, but still completely like themselves,” says Dr Marwa Ali, aesthetic doctor who specialises in non-surgical procedures. Dr Rabia Malik, GP and holistic aesthetic doctor, agrees: “I’m seeing a shift towards what I call skin confidence over skin perfection. Brides are leaning into looks that feel personal and true to themselves, focusing on radiant skin and enhancing natural features.”

However, truly healthy skin doesn’t happen overnight – it requires the right treatment plan carried out over several months. Here we share the best treatments to book in for (and when to do so) to achieve healthy, glowing skin in time for your big day.

Best for: Improving Skin Texture

Morpheus8 3D

A combination of microneedling and radiofrequency technology, Morpheus8 3D is a non-invasive treatment designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Each session lasts about 30 minutes and involves gold-plated needles delivering ablative radiofrequency waves that stimulate fibroblast activity and collagen production. In addition to helping tighten and lift skin, the protocol also improves the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.

Dr Costas Papageorgiou says the treatment is ideal for rejuvenating dull or lax skin, delivering visible results in about three sessions that are spread six weeks apart. “If you have lost weight ahead of the big day, for example, and don’t want to go through surgery, this is a great option,” he says. Post treatment, you can expect skin to look a little red and raised for up to a week – but once that’s settled, the results last for up to three months.

Best for: Sculpting and Brightening

Korean Glass Skin Facial

A new addition to Dr Marwa Ali’s lauded repertoire, this treatment offers a non-invasive route to a more luminous complexion. RedTouch Pro laser, LDM ultrasound and medical-grade Dermalux MD LED work in tandem to deliver controlled heat deep within the dermis. It works by “stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, which is what keeps skin firm and lifted,” says Dr Ali.

The benefits are more than just a boosted glow. The advanced protocol helps calm inflammation, boost hydration and generally improve skin texture. Over the course of your treatments (Dr Ali recommends scheduling between six and ten, spaced one to two weeks apart), the skin gradually becomes tighter, smoother and more luminous. Cue the wedding bells.

Best for: Hydrated, Glowing Skin

Profhilo

Often described as an injectable moisturiser, Profhilo involves injecting pure hyaluronic-acid gel into targeted areas of the face or neck to hydrate deep into the skin. Its rejuvenating powers are the reason Dr Toni Phillips considers Profhilo a brilliant treatment choice for brides looking to enhance dull skin. “The gel activates a bioremodelling cycle in the skin, leading to more collagen, elastin and essential glycoproteins,” she explains, saying it’s especially effective in plumping out fine lines and tightening lax skin.

Brides-to-be interested in Profhilo should heed the calendar advice shared by Dr Phillips. “For skin that is visibly smoother, refreshed and glowing, book two to three sessions spaced four weeks apart.” Your final treatment should be scheduled eight weeks before walking down the aisle, to give your skin the perfect amount of time to reap the benefits and be at its most luminous.

Best for: A Radiant Complexion

Meso-Peel

Combining medical-grade microneedling with a customised peel solution, the Meso-Peel is a signature treatment for Dr Malik. The treatment works by stimulating collagen to encourage a resurface of the skin, addressing concerns such as dullness, uneven tone, hyperpigmentation and laxity. Time-poor brides will be pleased to hear that downtime is minimal. “You’re not committing to days of recovery, but rather investing in real, lasting change to the quality and luminosity of your skin,” says Dr Malik. Plus, the gentle peel and ultra-fine needles can be tolerated by most skin types.

For optiumum results, Dr Malik recommends a course of two to three treatments, spaced six to eight weeks apart. “The real glow comes from the cumulative improvement in skin tone and texture that happens over time,” says Dr Malik.

Best for: Reducing Puffiness and Sculpting Skin

Dr Costas Papageorgiou Lymphēa Facial

Consider the Lymphēa Facial your secret hack to carving out temporary cheekbones. One of Dr Papageorgiou’s newest treatments, the experience involves a series of bespoke cupping techniques designed to boost the lymphatic system and ease fluid retention. The light-touch therapy aims to sooth rather than activate, making it suitable for everyone. Dr Papageorgiou suggests booking in around one month before the big day, because “lymphatic drainage is very important at this stage to eliminate fluid retention and toxins.”

Best for: A Picture-Perfect Smile

Harrods Exclusive Rüh Dental Wellness & Whitening Experience

“No one wants to be shy of their smile on their wedding day,” says Rüh Dental’s CEO, Dr Zayba Sheikh. “You want to be smiling from ear to ear.” It's little wonder, then, that the Wellness & Whitening Experience, exclusive to Harrods, is one of the clinics most in-demand treatments for brides, and grooms.

The package includes in-clinic whitening plus bespoke solution and custom-fitted trays to take with you to continue the process at home. Dr Sheikh suggests that brides book their consultation up to six months before the big day, as this will allow you to consider any complementary treatments you may want, including cleaning and alignment.
