5 of the Best Cafés in Harrods

Everyone deserves a break during a day spent wandering the store floor, trying on new clothes and mulling over which new fragrance to buy. Yes, shopping can make for tiring work and sooner or later the time for a quick cup of coffee and bite to eat will arrive. The decision then becomes which of the multiple cafés in Harrods you should head to.

Whether it’s simply a cappuccino made from our very own coffee (roasted daily in-house) and a croissant you’re craving or something a little more substantial, there’s a café waiting to serve you inside the Terracotta Palace. Keep things classic at one of our two Harrods Cafés or why not opt for a taste of Milan at Prada Caffè? The decision is yours.

Below we’ve highlighted just a few of our favourite spots in-store to rest and refuel with a coffee.

Harrods Café

Found on both the Lower Ground and Third Floors, our two Harrods Cafés are a lesson in simplicity done exceptionally. Open from 10am every day, this is where to go for everything from a full English breakfast and a cuppa in the morning to an afternoon slice of honey cake and a latte.

Looking for a light lunch while you’re there? There are also salads, sandwiches, soups and more to choose from at the Harrods Cafés alongside heartier classics like lasagne and cheese soufflé. The Harrods braffle, meanwhile – a signature hybrid of brioche and waffle, available with an array of different toppings – is exclusive to the two cafés and a must-try.

The Coffee Bar

A perfect stop-off for those exploring our Food Halls, The Coffee Bar takes pride of place in the centre of the Roastery & Bake Hall. Inhale the scent of coffee beans from the neighbouring roastery as you take a seat at the counter and soak up the surrounding buzz.

All coffees are made using our very own Knightsbridge blend while the likes of an iced matcha latte and Georgia peach iced tea offer refreshing alternatives. With the Harrods bakery in sight from the bar, it would be amiss not to try a pastry while you’re there. What about a freshly baked pain au chocolat or perhaps a sticky cinnamon bun?

Prada Caffè

Taking inspiration from some of the fashion house’s most famous stores, Prada Caffè brings more than a touch of Italian elegance to Harrods’ Ground Floor. Decorated head to toe in pale green, this ultra-chic all-day café offers a menu of cakes, small plates and drinks, all just as beautifully presented as the space itself.

During the warmer months, sitting out on Prada’s stunning terrace with a coffee – or perhaps even a Campari spritz, depending on the time – is a must. Keep cool with a cupful of pistachio gelato or a tiramisù milkshake and while away your afternoon in the sun.

Somewhere Café

Despite its name, it would be doing this Middle Eastern oasis a disservice to purely categorise it as a café given its extensive food menu of vibrant mezze, perfect for lunch or dinner. However, aside from being a top choice for a more substantial meal, Somewhere Café is an equally great spot to escape to for a moment of peace on the Fourth Floor.

Take a seat either in the colourful dining room or out on the terrace during the sunnier months and choose from an array of hot drinks including Turkish coffee, saffron karak and Morrocan tea. And when it comes to food, don’t miss the cheese-filled kunafa croissant, finished with a drizzle of sugar syrup – an unmissable afternoon bite.

Harrods Roast & Bake

Though it may not technically sit within Harrods itself, exit via Door 3 and cross Basil Street to find Harrods Roast & Bake – our stand-alone coffee shop serving hot drinks and nibbles to take away. If you’re ever craving a coffee as you’re leaving the store or maybe you’ve popped outside for some fresh air and a wander, this is the place to go.
