This edition also celebrates the composed lustre and refined brilliance of Echizen lacquerware: a 1500 year old Japanese craft shaped by generations of artistry. Production begins with a group of lacquering masters known as nushiya, who then pass each piece to increasingly specialised artisans – each layer building upon the mastery of the last to achieve its vibrant, glossy finish.
