Established in 1890, the Bodega of Riojanas controls more than 300 hectares of the best vineyards in Cenicero, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and nearby municipalities. Monte Real's Rioja Gran Reserva 2015 has a more earthy feel than traditional offerings, with rich aromas of roasted earth, leather and fine oak initially hitting the palate. Bold and lively, it leads to chocolatey oak and vanilla notes that rest on top of ripe berry and black plum, while the finish is persistently earthy.
