Penfolds is one of Australia’s most famous wine producers; founded in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold on his arrival in Australia from England, the label started from 500 acres of land – bought for £1500 – planted with French cuttings and was producing half of the country’s wine by the 1920s. Penfolds is still creating beautiful blends, with the full-bodied 2021 Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon appealing with its creamy oak flavour and notes of fresh mulberry, fig, goji berry and raspberry.
