Valentino Garavani

When a fashion house can be identified by a colour alone, it’s a surefire signal of its dominance within the industry. Since opening its Roman atelier in 1960, Valentino has become well known not just for a shade of red – otherwise known as Rosso Valentino, frequently seen colouring dresses – but for other signature elements such as the iconic Rockstuds and VLogo hardware, punctuating towering heels, tote bags and everything in between. While the Valentino woman is romantic, glamorous and undoubtedly feminine, on the other hand, Valentino menswear offers its own take on luxe streetwear, with its collections encompassing ready-to-wear, men’s shoes and accessories. Valentino Garavani – the given name of the diffusion line that makes up the brand’s bags, shoes and accessories – might have been the pioneer behind the label, but it’s currently under the creative direction of fellow Italian Alessandro Michele, who has been making his own maximalist mark on the storied House since 2024.
