Legend has it that a colonel from Napoleon’s army grew so infatuated with the Piedmont landscape that he started to make wine in it.
Grown among the Tortonian marl soils of Barolo, or one single vineyard from a top Burssia site, the Nebbiolo grapes of Prunotto’s 2017 Bussia Riserva are aged in French oak for 18 months, and in stainless steel for another 24. The result is an intense, tannin-rich sip redolent with rose, dried cherry and berries that will beautifully complement game, braised meats and truffle pasta.
