Self-Portrait
Founded in London in 2013 by Malaysian-born Han Chong, Self-Portrait carved out a cult following through occasionwear rooted in corsetry-informed construction and precisely engineered panels. Early tiered lace dresses became instant signatures – seen from weddings to red carpets – with silhouettes spanning structured midis to sharp mini dresses that sculpt and define. Sensual fabrics sit at the heart of the design process, with lace, mesh, chiffon and silk layered and bonded to create a sense of romanticism. This same technical rigour informs the label’s tops and jackets, while bags reflect equal focus on craft. Designed in the UK, Self-Portrait reframes occasion dressing as poised yet daring, resulting in pieces that thrive in the spotlight.
