The Inside Scoop on Khloé Kardashian’s New Fragrance XO KHLOÉ

There’s a new scent in the air, and it comes from one of the most influential women in the world. Entrepreneur, social media mogul, fashion designer, sister and mother: Khloe Kardashian introduces XO KHLOÉ, the first signature fragrance, which has its worldwide debut at Harrods.


With such a captive audience – you need only look at Kardashian’s highly-engaged 305m followers on Instagram to understand her influence – it seems the world is her oyster.  So why has she decided to launch a fragrance? “I’ve always been passionate about fragrance,” Kardashian tells me. “I love having different fragrances that I use in my home and for my body, and I have so many memories that are based on scent. I’ve been dreaming of creating a fragrance for a while.” 

How does the global icon feel about sharing her most personal project to date?  “I’m excited and nervous! We’ve been working on this for such a long time, so to finally have it out in the world feels really good,” Kardashian tells us.


The “we” refers in part to renowned nose Alberto Morillas, alongside fellow Fermenich perfumer Clement Gavarry, whom Khloé briefed with a specific mood in mind. “I wanted the scent to feel addictive, and to really embrace the wearer in an indulgent floral fragrance,” says Kardashian. “I love a classic scent that is immediately captivating – I tend to gravitate towards floral scents, but with a musk so it’s not too feminine. XO Khloé is a sensual floral fragrance that really indulges the senses, and I absolutely love how it smells.”  

What does XO Khloé Smell Like? 

In Khloe’s own words, “XO Khloé captures that scent of a delicate bouquet of crystallized rose petals, while incorporating notes of sexy musks, soft woods, and a touch of praline.” On first spritz, its surprisingly soft and light, where the floral rose notes are wrapped in slightly powdery, sweet musks, and dries down with an added woody, nutty depth – making it a true transeasonal scent.    

Khloé’s Debut Fragrance

You’d be mistaken if you thought this was just another celebrity fragrance, as Kardashian has been a key driver for its success from the beginning. “Fragrance is so personal to me and I’m always excited to work on projects that I’m passionate about – when I commit to something, I give it my all,” she says. “From the scent, the bottle design, and to the campaign – I was fully integrated into the process from start to finish, and I’m so happy with the final product.”  

An Empowering Juice

Female empowerment is a theme that clearly comes across in Kardashian’s mission to create a sent that resonates with the modern woman. It’s fitting, given Khloe’s history with the launch of Good American in 2016, which set out to empower women of all shapes and sizes to find denim that fitted every body, and XO Khloé is no different. “I want XO Khloé to make people feel incredible!” She says. “Whether they want to spray it and feel bold and sexy, or like they’re getting a warm hug, I wanted the scent to make them feel at-ease and confident.”


And as for the bottle design? The multi-faceted glass cube is an homage to facing adversity, of course. “I try to bring positivity to any challenges I face, and we wanted the faceted bottle design to reflect that idea of bringing light into the world.”

How does Kardashian feel about launching her fragrance exclusively at Harrods? “Harrods is such a beautiful store, especially when it's decorated for the holidays! It’s really a magical place and I’m so happy that the Harrods customer will be the first to enjoy XO Khloé.”
