A glittering jewel in the Red Sea

Words by Tanya Small & Meriam Ahari

Picture this: you're wandering along the white-sand beaches of Saudi Arabia's western shore. Palm trees sway, jewel-blue waters ripple and melodic tropical birds provide a soundtrack to paradise, all while the sun warms your skin. This is just a glimpse of what life on The Red Sea Global's premium island resort, Laheq, could look like. With limited availability, make sure to visit the pop-up at Harrods from the 17th June, presented in our Exhibition Windows on the Ground Floor, to find out more.

Laheq borders the world's fourth-largest barrier reef and is home to more than 2,000 species of fish - many of which you won't find anywhere else on the planet. With its abundant plant life and vivid greenery, the island embodies the concept of a "Forever Garden" - as envisioned by leading architectural firm Foster + Partners.

The Laheq Lifestyle

Laheq is currently in the development phase and is scheduled to open in 2028. It will include two luxury resort hotels - one with a wellness focus and the other with a diverse, lively offering that will resonate with adventurous travellers.

Across the two, you'll find some of the finest amenities imaginable, including a 115-berth marina and an 18-hole golf course designed for a truly picturesque tee off. Elsewhere, you'll find a vast sports field, a watersports school and a racket club. For guests and travellers who prefer to train solo, an array of high-end equipment awaits in the premium fitness centre.

“Enjoy a serene garden that engages all the senses and offers panoramic views of the magnificent surroundings.”

– Norman Foster, Founder and Executive Chairman

An Idyllic Investment

Red Sea Global (RSG) already has five hotels open in The Red Sea and an airport welcoming a regular schedule of domestic and international flights, but the pristine island presents a new opportunity for property ownership.

The private residences are inspired by Laheq's natural habitat. Open the door to one of its luxury apartments or villas, and you'll find references to the land, sea, sky and flora of the island. Natural materials and lighting work effortlessly to bring the outdoors inside, while elegant canopies, pergolas and lush garden courtyards create a seamless flow between the areas.

“Experience private island luxury living with an enriching resort community that brings people together.”

– John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global

A Vision for the Future

This is all part of RSG's commitment to regenerative tourism, which describes destinations that both preserve and enhance their natural surroundings. RSG has vowed to protect and regenerate corals in The Red Sea, and upon completion, the entire resort will become the world's largest destination to operate on 100% renewable energy.

From vibrant beach clubs to dining experiences that celebrate extraordinary culinary craftsmanship, Laheq promises a tapestry of sights, sounds, tastes and textures. Discover more about the resort at the Exhibition Windows pop-up on the Ground Floor, open until 15th July 2025.
