5 Grooming & Wellness Resolutions for Men in 2025

Words by Tony Wilkes

Today’s man is more informed about wellness than ever – and, as such, demands efficacy and evidence from his routine. For anyone with an interest in the space, the start of a new year is a great time to rethink and refresh. If you’ve already got the foundations in place, here are five grooming and self-care resolutions that incorporate the latest trends, technologies and services at Harrods – all ready to improve your health in 2025.

1. Level up Your Skincare

We’re moving beyond a daily skincare routine at home,” says Dr Costas Papageorgiou, an award-winning facial aesthetic surgeon at the Harrods Wellness Clinic. “There are advanced energy-based technologies available now that can improve the quality of the skin, facial laxity and slow down the ageing process.” These non-invasive treatments, requiring no downtime, range from EMFace, using electrical muscular stimulation to strengthen the lifting muscles of the face, Ultherapy that employs ultrasound waves to tighten the jawline and neck, to Laser Genesis, a painless laser facial that generates collagen, the protein that supports your skin structure. “These medical-grade facials keep your skin cells in an active state,” Dr Papageorgiou explains. “It’s like training your muscles by going regularly to the gym.”

The ideal is a regime of three parts. “Your skincare routine is still important,” he adds. “But it’s not only about investing in expensive products, they have to be the right products.” The Clinic recommends a hyaluronic acid – the hydrating molecule – combined with a moisturiser to seal in hydration. An exfoliator will smooth and brighten the skin, while a retinol used a couple of times a week is the most powerful anti-ageing agent available. “These products can replicate the effects of medical-grade facials at home,” says Dr Papageorgiou. “But the best skincare products are your nutrition, exercise and sleep.”

2. Biohack It

One of the buzzwords of the wellness industry in 2025, ‘biohacking’ is rather like the health equivalent of made-to-measure tailoring: understanding your own biology to hack anything from having more energy to enhancing your skin. And it starts with a consultation. “A lot of what we do at The Wellness Clinic is look after your whole wellbeing holistically,” says Reshma Patel, a renowned dietician and lifestyle specialist. “A client may be lacking energy. They may be getting unwell quite frequently. Or perhaps they have fitness goals, like running a marathon. I would do a full assessment to see how we can help. We’d deliver a diet, fitness and wellness programme bespoke to them to help them achieve their goals – whatever they are.”

3. Streamline Your Routine

Gone are the days of overflowing cabinets and overly complex routines. Today, men’s grooming is quick and fuss-free, thanks to the rise of multi-purpose products that save time and deliver results. You’ll know the importance of SPF (essential protection against UV rays), but do you know they now combine with moisturisers? Or that cleansers can double as exfoliators? LAB Series’ ‘All-In-One’ is a case in point, offering products like the new Face Treatment – a moisturiser that also works as an anti-inflammatory – and the Multi-Action Face Wash, a cleanser with gentle exfoliating grains to deeply purify and smooth the skin. Easy.

4. Invest in High-Tech Haircare

If there is one thing to learn about grooming, it’s that no one size fits all. Your skin is unique, demanding its own personalised care, and the same applies to your hair. Which is why Ricardo Vila Nova in Trichology on the Fifth Floor offers a cutting-edge DNA scan. Using only a single strand, the test allows him to identify the nutritional, hormonal and genetic factors influencing your hair to formulate a treatment plan tailored to you, from masks to serums and shampoos. Known as ‘The Hair Whisperer’, Vila Nova and his science-based treatments will take your hair to new levels of health.

As for haircare at home? You’ll find some of our favourite men’s products from Philip Kingsley, Patrick’s and Bamford. The latter’s BGD Shampoo is packed with keratin, the protein naturally produced by the body to structure and strengthen your hair. And for those with beards, the advancements extend to shaving devices. Panasonic offers cutting-edge razors based on the art of traditional Japanese sword-making, while Bolin & Webb’s Muhammed Ali razor not only has an award-winning design – it’s plated in 24-karat gold and exclusive to Harrods.

5. Discover Aromatherapy

Grooming will be seen as an integral part of daily self-care in 2025. Rituals that encourage stress release are increasingly popular with men, and brands based on aromatherapy are steadily on the up. Stretching back nearly 6,000 years, the practice uses natural essential oils – whether as candles, diffusers, perfumes or bath soaks – to deeply relax the body and powerfully improve sleep patterns, focus and mood. Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil is one of our favourites. Inspired by its co-founder’s struggle with sleep, the award-winning formula contains vetiver – a natural sedative – alongside calming chamomile and sandalwood. Clean, fresh and earthy, its scent also doubles as a fragrance to infuse clothing, bedding and towels.
